PostSubject: Women Are Scary   Women Are Scary I_icon_minitimeFri Jun 05, 2015 11:45 pm

Selena sighed, a gun pointed under the chin of a man who had attempted less savory things while she scrolled through her contacts list on her cell phone.

Her strawberry blonde hair was pulled back in a messy bun, loose enough to let her gentle waves fan her face while she wore a clingy sweater over some leggings. It was a casual, yet apparently enticing attire rounded out by pretty, yet sensible flats and a small purse that was a decoy to hol dher gun mostly. Most of her important items were left with Luca, he'd wanted to check something out so she'd decided to explore the city this evening.

He whimpered, attempting to move away while her purple eyes weren't on him, but the sound of the safety unclicking sent the man back into his frozen state almost immediately. She wanted more than anything to adjust her glasses back up her nose, but what would you know both her hands were full.

"Nothing... Nothing that won't bring up suspicious questions... Ugh, whats the protocol for sexual assaults in this city? I can't let them see my gun. Maybe just murder him and be done with it?" She grumbled as the man began sobbing, pushing the gun up firmly under his chin. If there was one thing she hated, it was those who preyed on others who were in a position of weakness.

She wouldn't murder him, but she felt like it as a headache grew behind her forehead from his whines and pleas for clemency. No one seemed to care, all the better.

As Yakuza enforcer, Machiko was many things. A problem solver, payment collector, door buster, bodyguard; but what made her own company special was the fact that they also doubled as a women's shelter for runaways and abuse victims. The seedy back alleys of the city weren't always the best place to be, especially if you were a woman. Machiko knew from example, having spent several years living in them after running away from her own home. It was also why she always took time near the end of the day to patrol the streets in order to help or protect anyone in danger.

When she had seen the shady man follow a young woman into an alley exuding malcontent, Machiko had moved to stand by and make sure that nothing untoward happened to her. She had unfortunately seen similar events lead into very messy ends, but she also couldn't body-slam the suspicious person just because he seemed like a creep. The last thing she wanted to do was draw the attention of the police anywhere near her territory.

When she heard the sound of whining and pleading, that was Machiko's sign to kick into action as she pulled an extendable baton from an inside pocket of her sea-green business suit, extending it to full length before quickly turning the corner to defend the woman who was in danger. What she saw however was... quite the opposite. The striking woman seemed to have the situation totally under control, especially with the pistol tucked under the man's chin as she casually did something with her phone.

"Well. I see that you seem to have the situation under control now." Machiko lowered her arm, but her grip on her baton didn't loosen. All her years of training wouldn't let her possibly fall into some sort of elaborate trap, which was why she also kept her difference from the woman with a gun. That and the fact that the safety was off. Nasty business, guns are. Hopefully nothing insane will happen, and I won't even need to use my powers tonight. That would be a change as of late. "Do you require any help, ma'am?" Machiko asked Selena, more out of habit than concern.

PostSubject: Re: Women Are Scary   Women Are Scary I_icon_minitimeSat Jun 06, 2015 9:33 pm

Sensing someone approaching with enough of a signature to make Selena think twice, she glanced over at the rather interesting looking woman that seemed to be intent on rescuing her. Not one to turn aside pretty protectors, especially ones that seem to know what they are doing and have handy batons, she relaxed just a bit more from having backup.

Too bad her own specialty was range, that baton looked fun... Flipping the safety back on, Selena gave her would be savior a warm smile that didn't reach her eyes and let the gun fall from the man's chin. He merely fell to the ground, seemingly too scared to run far for the moment. "Actually, yes. I have no idea protocol for this sort of thing. Am I supposed to hand over sexual assaulters to police or you guys? With your attire... Yakuza, and your turf one can imagine."

Her voice had a soft lilt to it, an accent from learning Japanese as a second language though her looks and quick use of a gun spoke foreigner in big neon, flashing letters much more obviously. The other woman's suit, on top of her stance and the way she held that weapon with obvious comfort bespoke of knowledge gotten somewhere... She'd dealt with yakuza groups in business dealings before, this woman just screamed their type.

She... didn't seem to be fazed by all of this either, Machiko realized. Either it being a history of being assault leaving her jaded to the whole thing, or just being made of sterner stuff, Machiko couldn't tell at the moment. But at least the gun was taken out of the equation for the time being as the assailant made his way to the floor in a broken heap. "'Proper' procedure would be to contact the police, yes. But I don't suppose that we're dealing with someone being 'proper' now, are we?"

The dark skinned-woman glared down at the blubbering man before she brought her attention back to Selena, still cool as a cucumber despite the situation at hand. Perhaps she is just made of sterner stuff, then. Machiko mused, her ears catching the accented Japanese rather quickly as she placed the baton back into her suit pocket and walked closer to the two of them. Hmm, that might be why she was targeted as well. Foreigners fall prey to these sorts of things more often than those who actually live here. Despicable.

"However, my company has our own ways of dealing with people such as him. Ways we've honed after years of practice," she said coldly, shooting one last look down at the man. "I can take him back to ensure something like this little event doesn't happen again any time soon." Machiko reached into another pocket and pulled out a zip-tie as she looked back to Selena. "We also perform as a women's shelter, if you need any help or a escort on your way back to your home, Miss."

A side-benefit of her job that Machiko always took pride in. Her company had always been a safe haven for women on their own, and she was sure to offer their help or protection every time she met someone who she felt could use it. Although in Selena's case, perhaps she didn't need it nearly as much as the other people she helped...

"Nope! And considering what I am, I doubt he'll get what he's owed. So I am leaving this all in your seemingly capable hands." Selena slipped the gun back into her small purse, mildly pleased with how events had turned out if she was this lucky. Someone who knew what they were doing and planned on dealing with men like this appropriately?

Good. She had this mild dislike of blood and that glare the dark skinned woman gave told her what was in store for the awful human being as a zip tie was brought out. Stepping aside with a minor bow and outstretched arm offering the man to her attempted savior, she gave him only a frigid stare with a minor frown. "How fun! I think I'd like to accompany you, if its no problem. I kind of want to see how your operation runs, if it employs more fullbringers."

Her eyes lifted up back to the cold woman, a smirk forming now as she settled back on her heels and cross her arms. "Selena Archiagott. Not miss or ma'am or anything."

Women Are Scary Empty
PostSubject: Re: Women Are Scary   Women Are Scary I_icon_minitimeTue Jun 09, 2015 10:13 am

Very well then, she doesn’t seem affected by the ordeal at all. Quite a relief in its on, I suppose. Machiko nodded to herself as she pulled the zip-tie tight against the man’s wrists and lifted him up on his feet. Even with her ability to control metal, normal people still had their ways of slipping out of cuffs and making things more complicated than necessary. She’d yet to meet anyone that was able to worm their way out of a zip-tie, though. “We’ll be sure to make it so he doesn’t bother you again, ma’am. You have my word.” And when it came to Machiko, her word was quite important. Mostly because her word was also the word for her company as well. Very serious words.

Selena’s sudden interest in her company, however, caused Machiko’s eyebrows raise slightly as she began to lead her captive down the alleyway. Not quite out of suspicion, but it was quite rare when someone wanted to just visit them without need for shelter. But her reason was soon explained when she acknowledged Machiko as not like an average person as well. “Ah, I see. So you can tell what I am, can’t you?” Slightly more of a reason to be wary, but the blond woman didn’t seem overtly dangerous or wanting to start something. No reason for Machiko to drop her guard anytime soon, though. “Well I must inform you that I’m the only Fullbringer currently employed at my company. But I assure you that we’re still very much capable despite it.”

It’d still be a good way to show her how we run things, I suppose. More people being aware of this does still help our cause in the long run, after all. “Very well, Miss Selena. Follow me, we are not too far from the office. I’m sure our Boss would be more than glad to discuss our principles to someone who’s interested.” Especially to someone who has the resolve to calmly hold a gun to their would-be-assailant without a shred of fear showing as well. Machiko motioned for Selena to follow her as the two women made their way further into the alleys.

Selena watched with cold eyes as the man was zip tied, finding amusement in the use of those horrible plastic strips. Good thing her crystal was fairly good at getting her out of them, if things went south she had a trump card to play. Yakuza types were fairly picky about giving their word though, and she just smiled in her frigid way before inclining her head in a show of respect for that. "My thanks. I was more worried about others to be honest."

Too small fry to be bothersome to her no matter what. He was lucky he hadn't actually touched her too much... Dust was way easier to clean up, even sparkling crystal dust~ She followed, merely raising her arms up in a minor shrug at the raised brows.

"Growing up with these things kind of gives us an advantage, since we know what to look for and how to for a young age. You have hollow taint in you, so fullbringer." Selena might have called it monster taint before Luca, but she was in her own way trying to be better about things. A whole life and upbringing though was hard to change in just a few months... "I don't doubt it then, but it must be nice for them to have someone with extra powers. Do you mind sharing? Or is that top secret?"

Looking down at her dress as the woman who still hadn't introduced herself mentioned a boss, it was the first time a real smile appeared on her lips though it was more like a smirk than anything. "I'm not exactly dressed for a proper meeting. More like a date, I hope your boss doesn't mind discussing things with someone so woefully unprepared."

Tonight should be fun if she got to speak with a yakuza boss with such an interesting follower.

"An admiral thing to think, for sure." Machiko agreed with a curt nod as she led the three of them to a nondescript building off in the distance. She kept a firm hand on her prisoner's neck while her other tightly held his wrists in place as she kept everyone at a reasonable pace to both talk clearly with Selena and also make sure no escapes happened. It also appeared that she had some sort of powers of her own, judging from how freely she talked about them to Machiko as if it was the most natural subject to talk about. "I suppose that does make sense, then. One should always be aware of their surroundings at all times. Especially when your surroundings are more... strange than most others."

Hmm, It wouldn't be exactly safe to reveal my own powers to her right off the bat. I'm still not exactly certain she's not a plant from another company out to hurt ours and just playing the long con or not. She nodded to herself as the three of them turned a corner, the distance to the entrance to the company building closing with each step. As always, it's good to rely on the Boss's judgement on this.

"I like to think that I can help my company with my powers as much as anyone else can normally, but I admit that it comes in handy quite a lot as well. But unfortunately I will let judgement rest with Boss Hatake on whether or not I should reveal my own powers to you. I hope that you'll understand, Miss Selena." It was nothing personal of course, just strictly business. And if her manner of dress wasn't obvious enough, Machiko was all business.

The subject of her clothing was soon brought up though, and Machiko turned her head briefly to get a better look at the woman walking with her. Well... she certainly wasn't dressed for a board meeting that was for sure. Her comment about being dressed for a date caused a flash of recognition to go off in Machiko's eyes. Was that what she was doing before this whole series of events went of? "Ah, in that case I hope we don't hold you too long from your plans. And I assure you that your clothes won't be a problem at all. Not all of my company share the same... fashion sense as I do."

Nor do I hope that they heard Miss Selena's comment either, it's sure to start all sorts of talk. Eventually, they reached a rather ordinary looking door with naught but an address printed upon it and a small sliding window for someone on the inside to see out. "We're here." Machiko said before she reached up and knocked three times on the door with her right hand, the hits making an oddly metallic sound with each knock. "It's Machiko, I've got one for the Room and a guest to meet the boss."

"Not really. Something like him isn't big enough to hurt me, if he had touched me he would have died." Selena spoke succinctly and to the point, it wasn't admirable at all from her point of view. He couldn't hurt her without dying himself, something like him wasn't a danger much like a single ant wasn't to someone else. It was clear she felt him as such at least.

"Large masked monsters wanting to destroy you from a young age kind of does that. My kind are always sensing and looking out, though I wonder how you learned all of this being a lone fullbringer supposedly." For being surrounded by normal people, this enforcer seemed rather well informed... Though really, were ignorant Fullbringers the norm? She hadn't really associated with them before this point and was content to follow this one around for now. Luca was busy doing something secretive so she was set just wandering for the evening.

They hadn't been too far, as the fullbringer noted and Selena made sure to memorize their twists and turns... If she flared her energy, Luca would be here in an instant so there was that too...

"I'm just wandering the city until my ride gets done with whatever he was doing, I don't mind secrets. Not like I'm being entirely forthright with you on all things, so we're even." Shrugging as she followed, she wasn't too upset by having to go to the boss. Selena had been spot on that whatever powers she had, they were useful for this job, but then it seemed this job and its whole... yakuza businessy stuff was this woman's being.

She had the air of someone professional, but loyal and it set Selena at ease a bit. Professionals who were loyal were amazingly relaxing to be around, there was no hidden agendas or anything else to deal with. "I hope what I said earlier reassured you, but really its fine. He'll come when he's done regardless, so I have nothing else to do. Besides I am a bit intrigued about your operation, so I'd rather stick around a bit and learn more."

Following her to the door, Selena quieted a bit as her escort spoke up and knocked. That sound... Metal on metal? How interesting. Her eyes narrowed and she crossed her arms as she finally got a name. Machiko. Being polite and quiet, she waited for them to give the okay and follow the fullbringer inside. The room... Hah, as if she could feel bad for the man at this point.

PostSubject: Re: Women Are Scary   Women Are Scary I_icon_minitimeWed Jun 10, 2015 9:25 am

The fact that a simple touch from Selena would have been enough to kill him raised all sorts of questions for Machiko as well. It dawned on her that she also had no real clue about what her guest for the night was capable of as well, but it seemed quite useful in warding off unwanted attention at the least. “I see, then. I myself have had years of practice, but still kept my abilities a secret within my company. Someone with abilities such as ours makes for a very good ace in the hole when applied appropriately.”

Around that time, the sliding window on the door opened slightly and a pair of small brown eyes peeked out, which quickly upturned into a clear expression of joy. “Machi, you’re back! And you’ve brought a pretty new friend too! C’mon in, I’ll go tell the boss!” The sound of several locks being undone echoed in the night sky as the door opened slightly, Machiko shaking her head slightly as she pushed it open with her left hand.

“You’ll have to forgive her, she’s quite… chipper” she said slightly exasperatedly as she led Selena and her captive into the building. At first glance, the building seemed to look like an ordinary apartment complex, the door leading into what seemed like the first floor lobby of sorts. But the clientele that inhabited it was slightly different than the usual fare. For one, it seemed to be made up entirely of women. More specifically women who had some sorts of physical disabilities or missing limbs of some sort. An eyepatch wearing girl here, an older woman with a prosthetic leg reading stories to several children off in the corner, and many more of the same from all ages and races.

As the three of them walked further into the building, a young girl in a slightly faded flowery dress sitting in a wheelchair rode up to meet them with a bright smile on her face as she waved over at Machiko. “Hi-hi! The boss said she’d love to meet your friend, and you can just leave the bozo with me. The Twins are actually just finished with another one, so they’d love to deal with this guy now!” The little girl looked over at Selena and gave her the same excited wave to her as well as she inched her chair closer to the newcomer. “Hi! My name’s Mari, what’s yours? Did Machi save you from the big meanie?”

"True enough." Selena, once they were close, clammed up about the powers because of the hints and outright warnings Machiko seemed to give. No need to let it be known entirely if it wasn't something the whole group was aware of...

Her attention was returned to the door, the man really put out of Selena's mind for now as the blonde woman blinked at such a chipper voice. It seems Machiko was popular~ Well she was rather pretty in a striking way, not that the quincy could do more than just appreciate that anymore. How sad... instead Selena smirked as the person called her pretty, accepting the compliment as her due while the locks were undone.

"I've dealt with worse." She admitted, holding back a chuckle and thinking of some of the upbeat people at her work. They were such a pain sometimes, but they could be counted on to get things done. Her attention though was taken to the building and its inhabitants, noticing how most of them had definitely disabilities right off of the bat. They were all obviously women, so Machiko-of-the-suit hadn't been lying at all...

It really did seem just like a home complex, as far as Selena could tell as her eyes settled on a woman reading stories to children. That did cause her smirk to soften a bit before she forced it and her eyes back to their usual coldness.

That didn't last long though, as another happy woman appeared in a cheelchair and caused Selena to actually chuckle honestly at the tone. Well~ He'd be taken care of and learn his lesson. She gave a polite bow and grinned for once at the woman. "I'm Selena Archiagott. Nice to meet you too."

"Yes, 'Machi' did~ Took him right out for me, it was quite amazing." Selena's smirk returned with a vengeance though, giving her new found 'friend' all of the credit. After seeing how uptight the other woman was compared to the people here, she couldn't resist minor little pokes at the suited woman. "I was interested in meeting the boss of such an amazing establishment after and she was kind enough to humor me. I hope I'm not a hassle, intruding in your home."

The girl’s eyes shined with excitement and she nodded excitedly at Selena’s recounting of the night’s events, while Machiko responded by awkwardly clearing her throat and looking away, her cheeks becoming a bit warm at having all the praise heaped onto her. “Yeah! Machi’s real tough! She probably bopped him real good on the head and everything, huh?” The enforcer in question pinched the bridge of her nose as she used a second zip-tie to attach the man’s hands to Mari’s wheelchair as she gave him a slight push to keep him going.

“Come now, Mari; we mustn’t keep the Twins waiting now, can we? Run along and deliver our new guest to them, and then you need to head to bed, okay?” Machiko said sternly, which didn’t seem to change the girl’s attitude one bit as she nodded once more at the two women.

“You got it, Machi! Have fun meeting the boss, Miss Arch-, Miss Archya-… Miss Selena!” she replied back enthusiastically after butchering Selena’s surname a few times. “Come on now, Mr. Bozo! You’re gonna like the twins, they really funny and everything, mmhmm!” The wheelchair-led assailant soon disappeared into the back rooms of the lobby as Machiko took the brief moment of silence Mari’s absence left to clear her throat again before motioning Selena to follow her.

“I hope you’ll forgive her. It’s actually past her bedtime, but she’s quite insistent on trying to skirt around that as long as she’s ‘helping’ someone else. And you don’t need to worry about intruding or anything; company is appreciated at all times, even to those who just want to see what the company is all about.” Machiko led Selena over to a pair of elevators and pressed the ‘up’ button, and shortly afterwards they were inside and rising up to the top floor.

“While I wouldn’t call being assaulted something to be celebratory about, it must be quite freeing to not having to worry about filing a police report and waiting on the results this way, correct?” Not that Machiko had any real problems with the police in general, they provided a needed public service after all, it was just sometimes they didn’t work… fast enough.

Her company wasn’t nearly as slow.

PostSubject: Re: Women Are Scary   Women Are Scary I_icon_minitimeSat Jun 13, 2015 12:35 am

"I was too busy covering my eyes to see, but its possible she did. When I looked up, the man was already cowering at the floor of the alleyway. She then quickly zip tied him and offered to escort me to safety, it was all too quick for me to follow though." Selena's ability to resist embellishing the story was destroyed as the rather professional woman seemed to just get more and more embarrassed by the story. "I'm sorry that I couldn't relay all of the heroics of the beautiful Machi though to you~ I'm sure she was amazingly heroic, though you'll have to take my word for it Miss Mari."

Despite the stern warning from her new 'friend' the girl seemed unphased and Selena found herself smiling again as she waved goodbye with her fingers. These twins sounded cool and she kind of wanted to meet them as well, the whole operation just screamed of something that was quite interesting... "Bye Miss Mari~ Thanks."

As Machiko spoke up though that small smile faded back to a smirk and she followed her to the elevator. "Don't worry, I wasn't bothered at all and as long as my company isn't a hassle... I might like to see about some things once I meet your boss. You see, I help run a business. I might be interested in some... negotiations now that I've been treated so kindly and approve of the work."

Money, obviously money was speaking and she watched the suited woman with interest for her reaction as they headed up...

Leaning back against the wall of the elevator, Selena crossed her arms and gave a short laugh. "I wasn't actually sure how I'd report them man to the police considering I'm not technically here. There's no record of my arrival here, no way to confirm I was here legally in any way, shape or form. So, yes, this is much preferred."

"It was why I was on my phone, trying to figure out how I could get that asshole charged or something. Worst case scenario I'd have had my ride drop him off somewhere he couldn't hurt others again." Like the abyss between dimensions or the deserts...

Machiko tried oh so hard to try and ignore the burning in her cheeks and the tip of her ears as Selena's twisting of the night's events rang fresh in her mind. She's going to give Mari an even more insane imagining of the events now, especially with her wild imagination... Swooping in to save the day, amazingly heroic... beautiful. Bah, I have to retain my focus. I wouldn't want to set a bad example before she meets the boss. Clearing her throat once more, Machiko pulled a bit on her suit collar as Selena expressed her interest in seeing more of the building.

"That shouldn't be a problem at all, Miss Selena. I'm certain our boss would be more than willing to give you a tour of the company. The subject of negotiations however will be totally up to her. I'm not as proficient in the more... sensitive matters. I'm mainly the muscle, to be quite honest with you." A job she was quite proud of, and her work showed of it as well. Which Selena would have had a chance to see in action, had she not already quite effectively subdued the criminal herself.

Selena's further explanation about why going to the police got Machiko's eyebrow to raise slightly, however. Not technically here, eh? Hmm, that does sound rather odd for someone who runs a company, who I'd suspect would have their own travel or jets or cars or whatever. But who am I truly to say what would be suspicious or not? She rationalized as the elevator sounded out a pleasant *ding* as it finally reached the top floor. Machiko left first and held her arm out to keep the door from closing so that Selena could step out unimpeded before she began leading her down a blue carpeted hallway.

"That's quite resourceful of you, Miss Selena. But I can also assure you that he won't be able to hurt anyone again once our staff takes care of him. We take pride in our work." Some of us more than others, however. At the end of the hallway was a furnished wooden door with a simple golden plaque that read "Boss" in etched letters, and Machiko stopped a few steps in front of it. "We've arrived" She raised her right hand and knocked three times before straightening her posture even more as she talked, following it up with "Ma'am, I have our guest Selena Archiagott here to see you."

A second of silence passed before a rough, confident voice sounded out from behind the door. "Bring her on in, Machi." The lock near the handle clicked and the door to the room swung inwards slightly as Machiko gestured for Selena to enter.

PostSubject: Re: Women Are Scary   Women Are Scary I_icon_minitimeTue Jun 16, 2015 10:21 am

Professional people were fun when they were secretly adorable inside. Selena, much like a shark in waters with delicious, deliciously flusterable prey, had sensed weakness in Machiko now. For right now though she would leave her alone and began to pull her own professional, Ice Queen, air about her as the enforcer gathered herself with a tug of her collar and a cough.

"I do appreciate your honesty at least. I did expect as much, I just wanted to be forthwright with you as well on my own intentions. You are a guard, yes? I wish to give you no extra reasons to worry over the people you are protecting." Inclining her head respectfully, the quincy adjusted her own clothes just a bit as they weren't exactly suitable for business talks. They would do though, proclaiming at least her own money to any that could recognize such tells.

As Machiko's eyebrow raised, Selena merely shrugged, not intent on telling the woman right now all of her secrets as the elevator announced their arrival. Giving a polite nod, she stepped out as the enforcer held the door for her and politely waited for her to move ahead of her again to lead her along. A smirk grew on her lips as she listened to words though, trying to sound less bitter and pissed but failing as she spoke. "I appreciate that, such work is vital to the world. There are way too many that get away with it, its nice to know there are ones working behind the scenes to rectify that~"

Clamming up as she noticed the door though, Selena straightened her back and lost some of the arrogant posturing and teasing air. Business was business, and if she was an arrogant Ice Queen that was one thing. Here it wasn't entirely needed, so she'd only draw on a bit of that.

Waiting to be admitted, she heard the confident voice and couldn't resist smiling a bit before stepping inside at Machiko's insistence. Should she bow? Introduce herself properly? Not before seeing the boss at least and Selena waited for her cue to give a respectful bow to the leader of such a wonderful gang.

Machiko nodded her head slightly and opened the door fully, allowing Selena to step fully into the half-lit room. It was furnished quite fancily, with a lush red carpet contrasting with the blue carpet that was in the hallway earlier. A large fish tank was stationed in the back, with several large, colorful fish swimming aimlessly around. In the middle of the room was a large oaken desk with several stacks of papers and curiously enough, a small plate of carrots off to the side. A woman with white hair sat at the desk comfortably, hands clasped in front of her on the desk as she smiled at the two entering the room. Also she had an embroidered eye patch covering her left eye, her lone grey eye studying them both.

“Boss Hatake, I present you Selena Archiagott: Our esteemed guest. She had wished to meet you personally. “Machiko bowed slightly towards the figure at the desk, whose lone eye shined briefly in the low light of the room.

“Come now Machi, there’s no reason to be so stiff when introducing your new friend. It’s not often you bring someone home, after all~” She added with a bright chuckle. The Boss got up from her desk and strode over to where Selena stood, taking long, measured steps as she studied the woman from top to bottom as Machiko seemed to stumble a bit at her words. She eventually came to a stop in front of Selena and held a gloved hand out to shake, a small smile playing on her lips. “Only a joke of course, we’re always glad to have guests to our home. Not many ever wish to see me personally however, so it is a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Archiagott.”

The Yakuza boss was dressed in almost a same manner of dress as Selena: Sporting a dark red jacket that covered the yellow tank top she wore along with a pair of worn blue jeans and brown loafers. The woman appeared to be middle-aged, but had not obvious outward appearances about her exact age as well. What she did look like however, was in charge. “Name’s Kasumi, and now that the introductions are at out of the way, got any questions?”

Selena's violet eyes took in the room, from the fish tank in back to the desk... Even the carpet was nicely appointed, a room of a bit of taste and she fell into eased habits. The carrots though...were those snacks?

After scanning the room briefly, her eyes lit on the head of the gang apparently. An ageless quality seemed to surround the white haired woman, which normally such hair would mean older... But she could have easily been middle aged and Selena's experienced eyes told her not much else. Lighting only briefly on the eyepatch that was embroidered interestingly, she met the woman's gray eye and found herself smiling as she was introduced to the boss of an interesting gang.

Selena gave a small respectful bow herself, though it was more casually given than Machiko's as she fought down a smirk at the teasing.

A rather relaxingly dressed gang leader was a surprise, but then she'd only dealt with the usual kinds at work. It seemed that the professional woman was definitely in the minority here~

All to the better. As the woman approached, the quincy stood her ground before accepting the gloved hand with a firm shake and a smirk. "The pleasure's all mine~ Machiko was such lovely company, I couldn't leave her side after she helped me out. Thank you for the warm welcome into your home though."

It'd be rude to embellish the tale itself for the boss, she doubted her teasing story would be as appreciated as the truth but it was true that she had been a help.

"Honestly I have a ton. May we sit? Your whole business is interesting to me, very interesting. I've never run across a Family that was run like this at all before." Deciding the best course of action was blunt honesty and none of her usual skirting when working with businessmen, Selena's smirk turn into a thoughtful pursing. "Its interesting to me. I... may be able to assist in such work. On top of that... You know of her unusualness and accept her fully. It just adds to my interest."

It felt weird to discuss the woman seriously while she was still in the room, and Selena shot the dark skinned woman an apologetic glance.

Machiko’s cheeks and the tips of her ears continued to burn as both Selena and Kasumi’s teasing continued to affect her as she tried to maintain her professional composure. This night has not continued the way I originally thought it would… Her eyes were suddenly quite interested in the carpeting at her feet rather than looking at either of the two woman as they talked about her for a bit, and Kasumi simply smiled at Selena’s comment as she shook her hand.

“Ah yeah, our Machi’s quite the character. Off prowling the streets and saving young girls all willy-nilly; you put her in a suit of armor and she’d almost be a literal knight in shining armor and everything.” Kasumi chuckled. She crossed her arms in front of her as she sat on the edge of her desk, casting a quick reassuring look back over to her enforcer. “But it’s good to hear she found you before anything bad happened. As much as I love running this place, living in a world where battered women’s shelters didn’t need to exist would be pretty nice too.” She simply nodded as Selena expressed her desire for answers, and sat up from the edge of her desk and walked around to her own chair behind her desk.

“Allow me.” Machiko interjected as she pulled a chair from against a wall and pushed it in front of Kasumi’s desk for Selena to sit in. Once their guest had been seated, Machiko stood off to the side of the desk, planting herself firmly between Kasumi and Selena as she watched the discussions unfold. Until told otherwise, she had all intentions to stand by and ensure that nothing unfortunate happened during the whole thing. Not that she suspected anything to happen, of course.

“Glad to see we’ve been a first for you then, Miss Archiagott,” Kasumi replied with a small smirk. “It’s been a lot of work to get this running, but every day’s been rewarding because of it. It’s always good to see your hard work pay off after all.” She slowly reached over to the plate of carrots as she talked, grabbing one and taking a bite of the vegetable for a few seconds before resuming talking. “But now you’ve piqued my own interest, because I’m curious to hear how you think you can help us. And how much it’ll cost us as well, of course.”

She continued to eat the carrot as Selena brought up her knowledge of Machiko’s powers, and Kasumi briefly gave the dark-skinned woman a questioning look that was returned by a shake of the head before looking back at their guest. “Ahh, you know about Machi’s magic trick, huh? To be honest, she was already a big help to us before we found out she had it, so we didn’t want to kick out one of our greatest assets just because of some mumbo-jumbo.”

“Thank you, Boss.” Machiko said earnestly, bowing at the eyepatched-woman slightly at her compliment.

PostSubject: Re: Women Are Scary   Women Are Scary I_icon_minitimeSat Jun 20, 2015 5:26 am

"Ah, about that... She did help me out, but not entirely as I extrapolated to the young woman. I didn't want her hero-worship to be dimmed so I may have exaggerated, though I figured she helped many women by now so it wasn't too far fetched." Selena refused to be less than honest with this woman, figuring it would be only fair to do so because she wished to help. Lying wouldn't get her anywhere. "I honestly just needed help getting rid of the man, while being unable to deal with anyone official... It would be nice and even if it is a pipe dream, I think its one worth pursuing."

"Ah, thanks." As Machiko the Flustered spoke up, Selena shot her a grateful smile and waited patiently for the fullbringer to move the seat over. She seated herself and gave a small nod as she noticed how protective she was over Kasumi, her boss. It was really rather admirable and Selena could only hope for people half as loyal to follow her...

Ignoring that thought though she listened and smiled at Kasumi, first intending to explain herself. Their work did pay off, hence why she wanted to treat this with the utmost respect at least. She didn't even seem to care that the woman was eating carrots, merely settled in to begin.

"What I am and what she is are similar. It's connected to how I am here, technically illegally, and why I needed help in the first place. I came here to pick up some... well manga." Pushing up her glasses, she attempted to look nonchalant as she admitted that. "And see a friend. However my...date and mode of transportation wanted to go look at something on his own, secretly for some reason."

That got wordy and she shrugged softly, before giving them both respectful bows of her head, first to Kasumi and then to Machiko. "I appreciate handing something like that man over to the correct people to deal with it."

"As for what it will cost you... Honestly, if she can sense those like her and bring them in for safe keeping if they desire at times I would be appreciative. With the way the governments are reacting now, I'm afraid witch hunts will become almost common place. Barring keeping them safe, taking note of any found would help me immensely." Inclining her head respectfully again, she gave a minor smirk to the woman at her terminology. "It may be mumbo jumbo to you, but considering my people and our legacy its just a normal part of my own life."

"If you have some legal way of funds to be funneled into you, say a charity, I could do so but it's not like I don't have other means. Also, its not like my wants are entirely altruistic, but I honestly do like what work you do, so even if we part here without any else I will at least make a donation in thanks for all of your help as well as at least your ear." Considering the quincy was slowly attempting to gather up or learn all she could about the fullbringers and others of the world... Taking note of them was a pet project she was just beginning to implement.

She was being so freaking wordy and formal though, it was almost grating to her. Selena wanted to show them at least some... some restraint and respect. They deserved it at least, unlike most of the others she worked with.

“Ah, don’t worry about Mari down there,” Kasumi said dismissively. “Little girl like that can use a few fairy tales to believe in while she can. Like she said, Machi here is all tough and stuff, right? A little stretching of the truth won’t hurt one bit.” The Yakuza boss added slyly with a small smile at her dark-skinned enforcer. Machiko however tried very hard not to let her continued flushing show on her face as she nodded silently at her boss’s words. I only need to endure this for a bit longer, hopefully. I can slink off back home barring anything else after Miss Archiagott leaves…

“Just rest assured that we’re up for all parts of dealing with creeps, from nabbing to stabbing.” Kasumi finished off her carrot and moved on to another one as Selena further explained the unique situation that brought her to the headquarters this night. “I dunno what manga you were trying to get, but it must have been a damn good one to sneak into Japan illegally!” Kasumi joked, chuckling softly. The exact reason for why she was in the country was news to Machiko, but the rest of Selena’s story checked out from what she told her originally. She maintained her position between the two women dutifully, sighing internally as her teasing seemed to die down a bit.

“Sounds like a lousy date though, but I guess that’s not my problem, eh?” The Yakuza boss’ index finger tapped against her veggie snack as Selena laid out her request to her and her company, and her lone eye focused in on their guest as the conversation went on. “Keeping track of all the magic people though, that might be something we can try. Machi here already patrols a good part of our territory when she’s not knocking any doors down, so it shouldn’t be too hard for her, right?”

“No trouble at all, Boss.”

“See? Perfectly fine. But what I do want to bring up is what you said about the government taking an interest of people like her. We’re a local business here, I don’t plan on expanding too far out from where we are already, so all we really deal with is the other gangs and the occasional police knocking about. But if you’re bringing in the Feds, that’s something else entirely.” Kasumi sat up a bit from her table and stood in front of Selena with her arms crossed. “We can try and keep a few of the mumbo jumbos if they’re not bringing a lot of heat with them, but if we start seeing a lot of suits walking around, I can’t guarantee we’re gonna take everyone in all the time. Most of us can hold our own if things went down, but we’ve got young ones on the lower floors too, I’m sure you understand.”

Machiko watched the interaction between the two women carefully; her boss’ words an already known but welcome reminder of how they did business at the company. Finding and helping people like her was well enough, but she was also wary about the possible Government interactions as well. “But if you’re willing to throw money at us, by all means we’ll open our wallets for you!” Kasumi laughed, bringing the mood back to a lighter tone. “We’ve still got that ‘memorial fund’ set up for the tsunami relief thing, right Machi?”

“It was dissolved earlier last year so they couldn’t trace it back to us, Boss.” The Fullbringer said quickly, causing the older woman to snap her fingers.

“That’s riiiight, that vigilante hacker got lucky and pulled our credentials. Nasty little twerp he was, but at least it didn’t fall on our heads. How about the handicapped children’s fund we set up through our contact?”

“Still up and running. I’ll provide Miss Archiagott with the contact information.”

“Well then, it’s a date! Now that we have all that boring stuff out of the way, would you like a tour of the place? Or do you need to jet to try and catch your date that’s on their secret mission or whatever?” Kasumi said playfully.

PostSubject: Re: Women Are Scary   Women Are Scary I_icon_minitimeWed Jul 08, 2015 12:37 am

Well it seemed her story was just as she had thought, something that wasn't too bad for the girl and not far from the truth. Selena gave a small smirk, pretending not to see how flustered the enforcer kept getting. It was adorable~

"I am reassured by that... and sort of, it is just easier for me to keep up with something in short bursts, rather thank bingeing is all." Selena shrugged off the comment about it being some sort of special manga, not really liking the thing but knowing if she didn't keep up with it she'd regret it later. When one's lover was a dimensional hopping monster, it was easy to do whimfilled things like this... She did give a short chuckle and acknowledge it was a crappy date, resting back in her chair while entirely at ease. "No, it's not your problem, luckily for you."

Listening though to the Boss lay out the rules, Selena gave her small nods of acceptance at her words. Obviously they couldn't draw attention and her eyes followed Kasumi's movements but showed no wariness, only a watchfulness. "I wouldn't ask you to go too far out of your way or cause issues for your people. In all honestly just having eyes out there would help me ones not tied to my people at least."

Memorial fund? That was a simple matter and Selena found herself blinking and looking between the two yakuza as they discussed their hidden funding methods. It seemed similar to certain things she ran herself in the company and an amused smirk returned to her lips by the time they were finished. "Well then, I'll be in touch then once I have the funds properly set up."

"A tour sounds great, honestly. As long as I am allowed to borrow sweet Machiko for a bit longer~" She leaned forward and uncrossed her leg, making to stand up and prepare for the tour while reverting to the teasing from earlier... before pausing and putting a finger to her lips. There was a minor problem... "He'll show up when he's done. If a tall man who looks mildly like a vampire lord shows up at the door, please let him know I'll be a bit if he's not allowed inside the building. There might be issues otherwise."

PostSubject: Re: Women Are Scary   Women Are Scary I_icon_minitimeWed Jul 08, 2015 11:11 am

“Nah, I get it. Micro-management and all that stuff. Keeps you from losing your mind sometimes, I’d know.” Kasumi grinned as she picked up another carrot off of her plate and began chowing down on it. “So I guess it won't hurt us too much to look out for anyone that moving stuff with their mind or anything. Can’t be hard to spot something like that, right?” She threw another playful look over at Machiko before standing up and taking a seat behind her desk once again. “But some ‘eyes not tied to your people’? Sounds like you’re expecting some spies among you or something. Which to be fair, is a perfectly rational thing to assume for someone like yourself.”

The Hatake Group definitely had plenty of eyes and ears around the town, considering the amount of protection and smuggling that they participated in in their day-to-day lives. A little extra order to watch out for people doing “weird things” wouldn’t be too much of a strain on them as it was. Machiko herself was more than alright with the added awareness on her patrols as well, she was used to the sort of thing. Now that she thought about it, there was someone with odd magic powers that she already knew about and interacted with earlier...

Either way, the plans for Selena’s financial support seemed to be handled just as easily, and their business in Kasumi’s office concluded. Machiko found her face growing hot again as Selena’s teasing returned in full force, and Kasumi merely sat behind her desk and smiled amiably at the two other women. “Well then, I guess that’s settled then! Make sure you show Miss Archiagott the grand tour of the place, won’t you Machi?”

“Er, yes. Of course, Boss.” Machiko replied after briefly clearing her throat. She relaxed her stance a bit as she walked over to Selena’s chair, awaiting for their guest to be ready to exit. Maintain, Machiko, maintain! The Boss is counting on you to show Miss Archiagott around like the professional you are! There’s no time to become flustered from the attractive stranger you just met...

“Perfect! Just make sure to take it easy on her, Miss Archiagott. She’s the only Machiko I got! Oh, and don’t worry about your date show up. Just because this is a girl’s shelter doesn’t mean we don’t get some guy guests from time to time.” She chuckled teasingly as the two women left her office, the large door closing behind them as they stood out in the carpeted hallway once more. The enforcer took a moment to give herself a steadying breath before bowing slightly in front of Selena again.

“Very well, which place would you like to see first, Miss Archiagott? The first floor is our commons area, with our holding areas located in the back near our interrogators. The second floor houses our medical facilities and the like on one half, with our recreational facilities on the other. And then the remaining floor below us are the rooms for all of our residents. I am happy to visit them in any order that you prefer. Also I’ll put in a word to watch out for your... ‘vampire lord’ friend.”

"Hah! I wish I could micromanage more... And its a combination of that and other things. Mostly my people are arrogant pricks, myself included, and don't care about people like Machiko. They'd either give crappy reports because they don't care or they'd outright lie unless I go out of my way to make sure they aren't assholes." Which was a bit of time she didn't have right now, Selena knew. With time and effort... Well maybe she could get a lot more information, but most of it might be filtered down. These people had no real gain to be had by lying to her at least for now.

"I didn't want to assume." Selena gave a chuckle, pleased he'd be let in if he showed up. It was way better than the over protective arrancar appearing out of thin air and that might cause panicking.

There would be nothing she could do to stop him either, noting as Machiko moved to escort her out. That caused a small smile to grace her lips as she gave Kasumi a bow, unable to help being pleased at the man and the situation both. "Of course, I won't tease her unbearably. However I am french, it's impossible for me to stop. She is just lucky I chose not to give her a customary french greeting or thanks~"

Following Machiko after her comment, she stood outside with the poor enforcer and in rare form of teasing. So tense~

"Since we are on this floor, maybe working our way down the building would be best. Though that means considerably less time in your company than hopping around aimlessly would... And you have my thanks, Miss Machiko. I appreciate how accommodating you've all been." Selena brought a hand to her lips, unable to resist the teasing at all. Seriously! Did this woman just get flustered that easily? It was a nice change from dealing with Luca, who took large efforts, and Julian who made a mess of her instead.

What in the world does a customary French greeting and thanks entail? Machiko thought flusterly as she stood in the hallway with Selena. The woman’s comment to her boss didn’t go unnoticed by the enforcer one bit, and only served to cause the color in her cheeks to flush more. This is ridiculous! I am a grown woman, there’s no need for me to be this… this distracted by Miss Archiagott! Any more behavior like this and I’m sure to ruin the Company’s reputation, at the very least my own!

“Very well then, Miss Archiagott. I’m sure our residents would be pleased to meet the visitor who wishes to donate to our cause. Or I suppose more accurately will be donating to our cause.” Machiko pressed the ‘down’ button on the elevator, which opened after only a few seconds wait before the two women. “I will warn you in advance however, our building is built more around its ability to hold and care for such a large number of people, while not the most atheistically pleasing. I hope that you don’t mind too much.” She swept her arm to the side to allow Selena to step into the elevator first, and quickly followed behind her to begin the car’s short journey downwards.

“And you’re… welcome.” She added offhandedly, tugging slightly at her collar as Selena continued to compliment and tease her. “It’s my job to accommodate any and all guests that we have, especially ones that I have brought in myself. I’m simply doing my job, after al.” But why is she so… teasing, then? I didn’t get this impression of her when we met in the alleyway; it seems that I may have let my guard down around her… Careless, Machiko.

The elevator dinged as it reached the floor immediately below Kasumi’s office, and held her arm out to stop the door from closing as she motioned Selena to leave the cart first. “Here we are, Miss Archiagott. This floor is home to most of our older members of the company, including most of our other enforcers and various other people who work around the building.” Not for Machiko, however. She had worked long enough to be able to buy her own apartment close by. The rooms were nice and all, but she was a bit of a neat-freak, and having a place all to her own was definitely a big help.

Wondering if Machiko was flustered due to her words and knowing, or if she was now flustered due to not know, Selena trained observant purple eyes on the darker skinned woman and smirked. But the Boss had requested she not ruin her, so the quincy was forced to just allow her space for now. Selena had sensed weakness like a predator culling the lamest and most sickly animal from a herd, though. It didn't help that she was rather bored by Luca's wish to go off and do something, but she wasn't upset at him for it. Unfortunately for Machiko that meant she was her new fun for the night~

"Once I get home tonight it'll be so much easier, doing this through a smart phone in another country leaves trails I don't think any of us want." Selena shrugged, unable to help that right now or else she would have by this point. It wasn't too hard to once she had contact information, waiting there with the enforcer for the elevator to reach them after the button had been pressed. "I'm not going to judge your operation based on the fact that you choose function over form. Spirits, especially since you have limited space and funds."

Giving a short nod, she entered the elevator ahead of the woman and stood by patiently for her to enter and control the thing. It was something she seemed well used to, others doing such menial things for her and she held herself with an arrogant air even while standing in an elevator. "Considering your magnificent job, I felt thanks were in order. It's rather fun watching you blush."

The orange haired woman gave a wolfish smirk, having given Machiko some leeway though she didn't continue on as the doors opened soon after, merely a floor below. Stepping out, she waited for her escort as was proper while giving a glance around. "So others like you, Machiko~? Not like the young woman from before then."
